Changing Hues

The weather recently has been unpredictable.  The sky tells it with ever-shifting colors and shades.  As I write, the sun has broken through the clouds.  A moment ago it was a forbidding blue tinted with purple and gray.  Now it’s becoming overcast, promising rain.

I love watching the sky, watching the light on the trees.  Sunlight plays over the grass, growing steadily from all the rain.  It’s beautiful, it promises summer.

My life during the past two weeks has been like the weather, constantly shifting.  Sometimes radiant, gorgeous days but sometimes dark and dull and gray.  With that tapestry of colors, blogging has not been a priority.  A difficulty yes . . . how to write, what to write.

In this life, it’s so easy to get tangled in a web of uncertainty, in a succession of changing days. As I look at my life,  all the uncertainty, I am constantly reminded of how God is unchangeable.  He is greater, He is above all my troubles.  And He alone is my hope and strength.

I lift up my eyes to the hills.

From where does my help come?

My help comes from the Lord,

who made heaven and earth.

He will not let your foot be moved;

he who keeps you will not slumber.

Behold, he who keeps Israel

will neither slumber nor sleep.

The Lord is your keeper;

the Lord is your shade on your right hand.

The sun shall not strike you by day,

nor the moon by night.

The Lord will keep you from all evil;

he will keep your life.

The Lord will keep

your going out and your coming in

from this time forth and forevermore.

~Psalm 121
